Statement by Common Good Chair Philip K. Howard

I founded the nonprofit Common Good in 2002 to present nonpartisan proposals to simplify government, a topic on which I have advised Democratic and Republican administrations and officials and written for more than two decades. In April of this year, I was invited by the head of President Trump’s Strategic and Policy Forum to advise the Administration on infrastructure and government reform. I do not want my efforts for better government to imply support for positions that I do not agree with. Like most Americans, I believe that white supremacists, neo-Nazis, and their ideologies are repugnant to our nation and should be denounced as such.
