Forum 2: Restoring Honor and Accountability to Public Service

On July 15, 2020, Common Good hosted the second forum in the Campaign for Common Good to explore the need to remake public service in America. A tangled bureaucratic framework has made it almost impossible for public employees and their supervisors to make sensible public choices. The inability to hold public employees accountable has corroded public culture and caused broad public distrust. Unaccountability has been the focus of national outrage over the inability to remove police officers with a record of abusive behavior.
